We became in contact with the FRC team, 7890 Sequence. Lauren had previously went to meet them on the prior Saturday afternoon after our outreach at ACC. She been talking with their head coach he invited us to come with them to Alexander Wilson Elementary during their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) night for a demo.

Sequence’s head coach asked for us to meet them at their workshop at 5pm. We then coordinated and left their workshop at 5:45pm to set up at 6pm. We were able to tour their workshop, meet their robot and some more of their team members.

We were given a space to share about our robots at the event. The kids took turns driving our robot, even launching drones in our drone launcher. They watched in awe and were very inquisitive. While the supervised kids worked hands on with the robot we talked with their parents about the FIRST program.

The experience was an amazing opportunity to bond with our new FRC friends and educate the community about FIRST. The kids had an amazing time and so did we!
