Parata Tour

On June 15th, 2022, our team took a tour around the Parata Systems manufacturing facility in Research Triangle Park where we met and talked with their lead Mechanical Engineer and their operations manager. Our guide, Tracy Parks, director of service optimization, told us all about their company. We learned about potential future jobs our team members could acquire. We also learned about how their pharmaceutical robots work and why they make them.

We were able to get up-close and personal with a few robots, the main one being their specialty. It was a robot designed to minimize contact between pharmacists and consumers. It allowed for the customer to receive the correct prescription and save time for employees. This was particularly helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic by allowing businesses that otherwise would be unable to serve customers to thrive.

We were not alone in our adventure! We met up with our friends at team 5064, Aperture Science.
