On October 10th, 2023, our team visited Elon Elementary to share about FIRST, answering any questions and to engage with our community.

Being able to connect with these kids was an awesome experience, this was only one of our groups that cycled through that afternoon. Lauren and Schuy demonstrated how to use the apple cider press safely and how it works. They were thrilled to learn and work to create a delicious drink they kept coming back for.

The kids took turns cranking the wheel and putting apples in the press. They were from the gardening club so they had a particular interest in the fresh orchard apples we provided. Their interest helped them stay engaged when learning. Lauren and Schuy were thrilled to answer any and all questions asked by the kids. We had visited to do this last year, so we knew the drill, making our process and presentation more efficient. We hope to return in future years!
