On Wednesday, August 21st, our team traveled to Glen Raven Mills’ headquarters located in Burlington, NC. We were given a tour of their factory. We saw how they turn packages of “fluff” of fibers into a thick, weak yarn and then into a strong, heavy duty thread. They use this thread to make their fabrics for organizations such as Sunbrella. They minimize their already small waste by recycling the excess yarn, donating it to companies that can turn it into something useful.
